How Sunscreen Smart Are You?

By   |

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancers in the world and 95% of these cancers are actually preventable. Most Australians (85%) do not use enough sunscreen, and are not getting the protection they need. Furthermore, only 32% of people reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.

With summer just around the corner, it is important that your pharmacy customers understand how to protect themselves from the sun.

Everyone has different preferences when it comes to sun protection, which is why it’s important to offer different sunscreens to suit a variety of use. The good news is that all sunscreens sold in Australia are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for safety and quality.

Now is the time to update your sun care knowledge. Complete Banana’s Boat sunscreen training before the 23rd November to go in the draw to win 1 of 10 EFTPOS vouchers and Banana Boat summer care package.

Remember, sunscreen is only one part of an important combination of actions you should recommend customers take to protect themselves and their family from the sun. Always recommend that they avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and always wear protective clothing, hats and eyewear.
